● Private hour booking available over and above voucher.

Who we are
In August 2024, our bilingual daycare centre will open in the quarter at Klosterwall in Hamburg’s city centre. Spacious, bright and modern rooms will be created on 137m², which together with the beautiful outdoor play area on the roof (259m²) offer plenty of space to play, learn and discover.
In order to create a family atmosphere in which the children feel comfortable and can develop their talents, we attach great importance to furnishing the new building with great attention to detail. Loving care and guidance by a team with different educational backgrounds is just as important to us as a wholesome, healthy diet. Our bilingual concept (German/English) is based on the immersion method, which means that an English-speaking member per group is part of the nursery staff. This person speaks English exclusively with the children, colleagues and parents.
Our day care centre participates in the Kita-Gutschein system of the City of Hamburg.

The group forms
At Villa Luna Hamburg Johann Kontor we care for up to 43 children aged 4 months to school age. We have 2 groups for this purpose.
● 1 nursery group for children from 4 months to 3 years of age.
● 1 kindergarten group for children from 3-6 years of age

● Bilingual care and support according to the immersion principle by one English-speaking member of staff per group.

● Musical, artistic and scientific support.
● Varied range of physical activities.
● Regional, seasonal and wholesome meals with a high organic content.

Vom Kletter- und Aussichtsturm haben die Kinder einen fantastischen Blick über die Stadt und können viele Hamburger Sehenswürdigkeiten wie die Hafen City mit ihrer Elbphilharmonie und dem Miniatur Wunderland entdecken. Und wenn die Kinder auf die andere Seite blicken, dann können sie den täglichen Zugverkehr am Hauptbahnhof beobachten. Nebenan die Zentralbibliothek, untergebracht im ehemaligen historischen Hauptpostamt in den Hamburger Bücherhallen, und die Deichtorhallen. So viele Möglichkeiten für die Kinder auf Entdeckungsreise zu gehen und tolle Abenteuer zu erleben! ⚓️🚊📖

From the climbing and observation tower, children have a fantastic view over the city and can discover many of Hamburg's sights, such as the harbour city with its Elbphilharmonie concert hall and Miniatur Wunderland. And if the children look to the other side, they can watch the daily train traffic at the main railway station. Next door is the Central Library, housed in the former historic main post office in the Hamburg Bücherhallen, and the Deichtorhallen. So many opportunities for the children to go on a voyage of discovery and experience great adventures! ⚓️🚊📖

In Deutschland ist Mehrsprachigkeit weit verbreitet, viele Kinder wachsen mit mehreren Sprachen auf. Mehrsprachigkeit eröffnet persönliche Perspektiven und schafft Zugang zu anderen Kulturen 🫶
Die Kinder der Villa Luna lernen die englische Sprache nach dem Immersionsprinzip so frei und im Alltag eingebunden wie eine Muttersprache – spielerisch und ohne Druck.
Unsere englischsprachigen Mitarbeiter*innen sprechen in den Gruppen ausschließlich Englisch mit den Kindern. Neben der Sprache vermitteln sie auch ein kulturelles Bewusstsein über ihre einzelnen Herkunftsländer und fördern so Offenheit und Toleranz der Kinder 👏
ℹ Wir sind vom Verein für frühe Mehrsprachigkeit an Kindertageseinrichtungen und Schulen e.V. fmks e.V. als bilinguale Kindertagesstätte anerkannt und registriert.
Multilingualism is widespread in Germany and many children grow up speaking several languages. Multilingualism opens up personal perspectives and creates access to other cultures 🫶
The children at Villa Luna learn English according to the immersion principle as freely and integrated into everyday life as a mother tongue – playfully and without pressure.
Our English-speaking staff only speak English with the children in the groups. In addition to the language, they also convey a cultural awareness of their individual countries of origin and thus promote openness and tolerance among the children 👏
ℹ We are recognised and registered as a bilingual daycare centre by the Association for early multilingualism at day-care centres and schools e.V.
