Who we are
From August 2021, our bilingual daycare center (German/English) will open its doors in beautiful Cologne Raderthal. With 500sqm of indoor and 800sqm of outdoor space, we offer the children here plenty of room to play, develop and discover their environment.
The bright, friendly rooms are spacious and are furnished with a great deal of professional expertise, so that the children can be lovingly cared for and individually supported in a family atmosphere.
Not only the Cologne Volksgarten, but also the nearby cultural institutions and other green spaces invite you to exciting excursions.
You can reach us easily via the nearby bus and train connections. In addition, you will find several parking spaces directly at the house.

What we offer
The group forms
At Villa Luna Cologne Raderthal, we care for up to 40 children from the age of 4 months until they start school. We have 2.5 groups for this purpose:
● One and a half T2 groups for children aged 4 months to 3 years.
● One T3 group for children aged 3-6 years.
Our colourful everyday life*:
● Bilingual care based on the immersion principle with one English-speaking team member per group.
● High childcare ratio.
● Natural science program with a graduate chemist. Musical and artistic offers.
● Variety of physical activity offerings.
● Regional, seasonal and wholesome meals freshly prepared in our house.

WHAT’S THE NEWS?
Nach Müllspaziergang, Naturmaterialienmosaik im großen Außengelände, diversen Besuchen auf Spielplätzen und weiteren Naturerkundungen steht nun unsere Waldwoche an: Wälder mit alten und jungen Bäumen, Sträuchern, Hecken, dem Waldboden mit Moosen und Altholz bieten Kindern ganz andere Erfahrungsmöglichkeit als im Kindergarten. Hier können Kinder noch intensiver experimentieren, bauen, spielen, beobachten und Abenteuer erleben. Bewegung, Wahrnehmung und Kreativität lassen sich hier ebenso fördern wie mathematische Fähigkeiten, Sprache und Kommunikation.
Hollie hat ein Waldbingo vorbereitet und ausgerüstet mit Lupenbecher, Handschuhen, Bollerwagen und einer entsprechenden Verpflegung machen wir uns mit Christina und dem gesamten Sonnenteam auf den Weg.
In der Nähe des Tippis treffen wir auf eine kleine Schnecke 🐌, die wir uns ganz intensiv aus der Nähe anschauen können- oder umgekehrt, das liegt im Auge des jeweiligen Betrachters 😉.
Und der Morgenkreis kann genauso wie in der KiTa in freier Natur stattfinden - unsere Kinder sind generell jeden Tag an der frischen Luft frei nach dem Motto: Gesunde Kita, gute KiTa!
After a litter walk, a mosaic of natural materials in the large outdoor area, various visits to playgrounds and other nature explorations, it's now time for our forest week. Forests with old and young trees, bushes, hedges, the forest floor with mosses and old wood offer children completely different experiences than in kindergarten. Here, children can experiment, build, play, observe and experience adventures even more intensively. Movement, perception and creativity can be encouraged here, as can mathematical skills, language and communication.
Hollie has prepared a forest bingo and, equipped with magnifying glasses, gloves, a handcart and appropriate refreshments, we set off with Christina and the entire Sonnenteam.
Near the tippi, we come across a small snail 🐌that we can take a close look at - or vice versa, it's in the eye of the beholder 😉.
And the morning circle can take place outdoors, just like in the daycare center - our children are generally out in the fresh air every day according to the motto: Healthy daycare center, good daycare center!

„Über den Wolken☁️…“ - wer den Song noch kennt, weiß, wohin uns unser Ausflug führt: Wir sind unterwegs zum Köln Bonn Airport! Hoch hinaus geht es nicht, aber wir dürfen uns das Ganze von unten und direkt aus der Nähe anschauen… .
Nach Sicherheitskontrolle und der Überprüfung unserer personellen Daten geht es dann gemeinsam mit dem Flughafenpersonal vorbei an den abreisenden Gästen Richtung Rollfeld (via Bus🚍).
Wir schauen zu, wie die Koffer💼🛅🧳 verladen werden, sehen beim "Einparken", aber auch startenden und landenden Flugzeugen🛩🛬🛫✈️ zu, fahren an Polizei, Feuerwehr und auch Tower vorbei und noch vieles mehr.
Gemeinsam nach einer verdienten Pause geht es dann via Bahn zurück in die KiTA. Am Ende sind sich alle einig: Am liebsten wären wir in eine Maschine gestiegen und mitgeflogen.✈️
“Above the clouds☁️...” - anyone who still knows the song knows where our trip is taking us: We are on our way to Köln/Bonn Airport ! We won't be going up high, but we'll get to see the whole thing from below and from close up... .
After going through security and having our personal details checked, we walk past the departing guests towards the tarmac together with the airport staff (via bus🚍).
We watch how the suitcases 🧳🛅💼 are loaded, see how they are “parked”, but also watch planes taking off and landing✈️🛫🛬🛩, drive past the police, fire department and tower and much more.
After a well-deserved break, the children return to the KiTA by train. At the end, everyone agrees that we would have loved to get on a plane and fly with them.✈️
