St. Martin's Day (November 11) commemorates St. Martin of Tours, who shared his cloak with a poor man. The festival stands for sharing, charity❤️🙏, and light in the darkness🕯.
We also like to remind ourselves of the really important things in life and today we are walking around the daycare center grounds with our homemade, upcycled lanterns to finally reenact the story of St. Martin around the fire pit🔥, which we rehearsed in advance with Ramona and Hollie.
Chef Uwe👨‍🍳 has once again baked 150 Weckmännchen (little men made of bread) this year and will give the opening speech on behalf of Christina before delicious children's punch, fragrant cocoa, and delicious mulled wine are served after atmospheric St. Martin's songs🎶. The children eagerly distribute the Weckmännchen and everyone stands together comfortably until the small fire finally goes out.
In this spirit: “My light is going out; we're going home; Rabimmel, rabammel, rabum.”✨️
